It feels like such a long time since I was able to blog properly. Hubby went back to work today. I can't believe how quickly those 3 weeks went! Poor soul, he hates his job and is desperate to find a new one. Sadly, there isn't even anything positive in the pipeline at the moment. Hopefully something will turn up soon!
We had a lovely time while he was off. The above picture was taken during one of our days out. We went to Tropical Wings which is a local attraction with a huge butterfly house and loads of other animals & birds to see. If ever you do happen to go there, avoid the hot food at the tea room!! I wasn't particularly hungry but hubby was and he chose some kind of pie to eat. I'm not a lover of anything pastry so chose the chicken curry & rice. Big mistake! It had zero taste and smelled like boiled sick!! Hubby tried it however, and couldn't understand why I refused to eat it.

The big news, as many of you already know is that we have started our own business! We've opened our own ebay store, Common Scents UK, selling top brand perfumes at discount prices! Please take a look when you have a minute. (The link is at the top of this page). And please recommend us to your friends!! If you are looking for any popular fragrance which is not displayed in the shop, please ask me and I'll try to get hold of it for you. We haven't yet finished listing products but hope to have them all done by the end of the week.
We went to the theatre in London on friday night to see Grease. I have to say, we both thoroughly enjoyed the show. Both Danny and Susan were very good in their roles and it was a much better adaptation than the last one we saw in the west end about four years or so ago. Hubby said he thought Danny struggled a little with the American accent, but if he did, I didn't notice!
My latest recipe attempts have had mixed results. Yesterday for example, I cooked lemon & paprika chicken taken from a Gary Rhodes cookery book. It was really nice. As part of the same meal, I made spicy bread but that wasn't such a success. It was edible, but I certainly won't be making it again!! The chicken recipe will be posted on my recipe corner soon.
Forgive me if this blog is a bit boring. I'm totally shattered!! I can't remember the last time I was in bed before 3am and it's catching up with me!!

You are anything but boring my friend. And I love the photo. Many congratulations on the new business, when will you have time to write??!!
I'm so glad you have enjoyed your time together, after all you've been through recently with your dad and hubby you deserve to have some quality family time.
Love Crystal xx
Lovely photo. Am off to take a lok at your new busines via your link, lots of luck with it, it sounds like a great idea. I rarely use strong perfumes myself, since I get horrible migraines from strong scents, but do buy for friends and family and I still wear very very light floral perfumes. It's so lovely to have long stretches of family time together. I hope you husband manages to find something he prefers doing soon, it's so demoralising hating your job.
Not at all boring! And I'm intrigued to hear about the perfume business - especially as I'm a bit of a perfume junkie. I'm sure I'll be checking it out.

Well done on taking the plunge and starting the new business - don't forget to sleep and have ME time though . . .
No way was that blog boring Funky Munky!!
Firstly, what great news about your E-bay shop. The confidence you will gain even having taken the plunge will do your self esteem the world of good.
I sell lots on E-bay and find it a great source of leads and business. Good luck to you.
I hope hubby gets something else-it is awful not enjoying what you do...you never know-I am a big believer in things happening for a reason. It may be that this E-bay business leads somewhere and in time may support you financially??...maybe try and build in a business plan if you can see where the business might go...you can dream for free!...
Then maybe if hubby can picture that his current job is just a 'means to an ends' and only short term and you have something to strive for then pyscologically he can switch off and who knows what might happen...
I am particularly pleased to hear about your trip to Grease! One of my all time favourites. Olivia Newton John still remains the one person I would love to be on Stars in their Eyes!!-we must be about the same age F.M-Grease had a huge effect on me as an 11 year old!!
warm wishes
